I don’t think we can say there is no cure but we could say we have not yet found a cure that is commonly agreed upon.

Hi, your input is most appreciated …T1 [insulin lowered] and T2 [insulin resistance] are both protective adaptions to help provide fuel to insulin independent tissues especially nerve cells.Diabetes is not a disease until cells are dehydrated and/or treated with glucose lowering medication that starves the insulin independent tissues of fuel … the very opposite of why acute T1 starts or chronic T2 starts … dependent upon how severe the ‘fuel crisis’ is or continues.Warm thanks; Nick

However I think the confusion here is that insulin can be used to treat acute hyperglycemia in type 2 initially as colletty says. The confusion comes when type 1 is labeled as Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitis. it is better to label conditions by their pathophysiology, in this case it would be known as insulin deficient (type1) or insulin resistant (type2). Many naturopaths will treat all kinds of autoimmune conditions (eg type 1 DM, reumatoid arthritis etc etc) using nutrition.

The cause of type 1 is unknown. It appears that it could be autoimmune destruction of the insulin producing pancreatic cells. Therefore if it is treated early in its progression and enough cells are functioning (and the trigger factors for the autoimmune destruction are addressed) it is reasonable to see that improvement may be possible? Especially as we know that cells are always being destroyed and are regenerating. Good nutrition and body mechanics may help this to occur.

Type 1 is a pancreas that has stopped working..as in dead..u must take insulin…Type 2 is diabetes u acquire usually by eating too much carbohydrates over a long period of time and usually these people do not exercise regularly either…Many normal people become diabetic type 2 just be dietary habits and if they change that before their pancreas stops functioning it may be reversible…but type 1 would take a pancreas transplant to produce its own insulin. I am type 2 and on insulin.

There is a cure in lettuce but no one is using it because people make so much MONEY off people like my mom. Alot of people get sick because they don’t get enough minerals and vitamins. Pasteurized milk kills the white bloods cells that keep a strong immune system because they share the white blood cells from their mothers breast milk.
