How do you get past the metal detectors with diabetic supplies such as syringes and lancets? Just curious as I’ve only been diabetic…er, known about it anyhow, since the end of last summer and haven’t been to an amusement park since.
How do I take insulin syringes into an amusement park?

do you wear one the medical bracelets or something like that that tells them your diabetic? you have a medical need for those so im pretty sure they will allow them in. call your doctor they can explain that to you.
my friends diabetic we’ve never had problems going places

Walk up to the security personnel *before* going thru the scanner and say “these are my diabetes supplies, so please don’t be surprised by them on the X-ray.” That should do it, as long as the lancet is with the electronic monitor, and as long as the syringe is with the insulin vial. A bunch of syringes on their own would be a different story.
There are so many diabetics around, this must be fairly routine for security people.

You’ll have no issues getting in. Security will ask you to open your bag, but once they see that it’s diabetic supplies they’ll let you in. No problem. Especially if you have insulin to go along with your syringes – needles on their own look a bit sketchy.

Your supplies are necessary and therefore are allowed to be taken with you anywhere you go. Just like seeing eye dogs are allowed to go into banks and amusement parks and other places of business.
Anyone denying you access would be guilty of Public Accommodation Discrimination under Title IV of the Civil Rights Act. You cannot be discriminated against on the basis of a disability and that’s what diabetes is.
So when you get to the metal detector, explain to the attendant.

As long as you have proof that you are a diabetic, by law, they can’t say anything for health safety reasons. The best thing to get is a certificate/note/medical ID bracelet so that the amusement employees or wherever you go don’t reject your admission because you have needles.
