Sometimes you can hit a nerve or vein also and it hurts. The point is at an angle, although hard to see. Pinch up and stick it in with the angle face up so it goes in smoother, and itll hurt less,if at all.

it might hurt less if you let the alcohol dry longer before sticking the syringe

i take 40 units of lantus in the morning, 45 units of lantus at night and i take humalog before meals with a insulin/carb ratio of 1:3 with a sliding scale of 1 unit for every 10 points i want my blood sugar to come down. So in a days time I take well over 150 units of insulin. I’m praying for a pump soon

Probably. When I don’t hit muscle, the needle sometimes just slips in and I feel absolutely nothing, which always surprises me.
