My mom has type 2 diabetes and the doctor said it was resolved after she lost over 100lbs but now she broke her ankle. She can’t really move for 6 to 8 weeks and we live on the second floor in a studio. Is there anything we can do to make sure her diabetes doesn’t come back?

I am a diabetic, and need to afford occasional doctor visits, at the moment 3 medications, testing supplies. This will probably involve me either completely leaving my job, or monkeying with the hours enough to where I lose benefits…which i need to go back to school I believe and better myself on the job market, doing work and school at the same time is not an option. I want to go full time to do a good job on it. I tried to take a class while I was at this job ( a job Im not happy with which physically and and mentally drains me) and I almost quit the class, which was more of a work shop class than a REAL class (ones I will be taking like economics, business, finance).
I’m underweight and having a tingling feeling in my back.?

i’ve looked this up and it says this feeling could be diabetes. i’m currently having problems with being underweight, not taking in enough protein and over working out. could tingling this be a symptom of diabetes? could it be preveted if i do something now?? who can help me with my reluctance to take in more protein? 5 11 weight – 121. who can help me?

another reason could be (Another reason for back numbness or a tingling feeling can be because of being in one posture for a long period of time. Being in one posture reduces the flow of blood to complete body and therefore, this feeling occurs. It can start from the back as travel down your leg and hands. For people who work in front of the computer this is quite a normal phenomenon, it would do them quite good if they decide to get up once in a while and take a walk or stretch themselves to restore normal blood supply. Changing your posture once in a while too may do the trick for you. )
my posture has changed and this happens when i’m usually sitting all day in school, which is very uncomfortable.
Just had an A1C test for glucose and was told it came back hight? Does this mean Diabetes?

I was just told by my doctor my A1C test for glucose came back high, does this mean I have diabetes? I go back to meet with the doctor this week, but am wondering what this means?
My grandmother tested her urine with strips of paper back in the 60’s & 70’s. Was she testing for diabetes?

She also took a white powder that she mixed with water. The strips were left out to air dry.
Back around 2001 or 2002 I had back surgery or spinal surgery shortly after I developed Type 2 diabeties?

I deveveloped type 2 diabeties shortly after having the fusion of 2 discs in my low back my weight grew to 172lbs and I’m 5′9″ Could the 2 blood trasnsfusionsions trigger or carry the diabeties? I’m down to 155 lbs now about 150lbs is my normal weight. All sorts of wierd things went wrong after that surgery. The diabeties was the worse. I know they filter the blood pretty much but, it makes you wonder?
Is it safe to go back onto Metformin after taking high dosages of insulin throughout a pregnancy?

I was on metformin for my type 2 diabetes and I was struggling with high blood sugars , but my doctor had me taking 850 mg a day of metformin. I was wondering if anyone had this problem but went on a higher dose and was fine?? I’ve been on insulin through my pregnancy, but I get so sick if I don’t eat enough per meal to keep my sugars up.
The glucose test came back fine but?

When I got my glucose test at the OB it was fine, no sign of gestational diabetes. However since I hit 37 weeks I’ve been feeling increasingly odd and so I started testing my blood sugars (my parents are diabetic and have the testing supplies) and they’ve been below 100 until today…when I tested it after feeling icky it was 154. Before I left for work about half an hour later it was still 146. An hour later at work I was hungry so I thought I would check to make sure it wasn’t still high and it was 74! What in the world is going on?
I need help going back to school, I owe on a school loan still. Can someone help me???

I started an online education through Kaplan University, to become a parallegal. Well I got pregnant in 06 and got put on bed rest, meanwhile lost interest in the course, to much writing essays and I didn’t have time for that. Well since I quit they want all the money NOW and I don’t have it, but I want to go back to school to get a better education to be able to pay for my loan. I have juvenile diabetes and that is what most of my money goes too, to buy the insulin and supplies I need. I really want a college education to better myself… Any one out there can you help me find a way to get around paying Kaplan for right now and still go to school.
How could i qualify for a Government Grant and never repay back?

I’m 17 years old and i’m about to be 18 in April 2007 and i think it will be awesome if i could get a Government Grant to buy a House for the Family …We’ve been living in Apartments since i was born…The Owner of this apartment is desperate to kick us out of here…we are 6 in total including my parents and me and my two sisters and little brother… My dad was injured at his job and he filed a compensations claim… and he is still waiting…he’s fractured 4 or 5 discs from his spinal cord… my mom has Diebetes and she’s works for a company named Remedy Temp… she pack goat meat and it’s like frezzing inside where she works… the company is planning to go more down on the temperature… my mom claims that she has pain in her legs by standing all day at work…i had a terrible accident back at year 2002 and broke my Tibia/Fibula… when i got ranover.. well at least i got to keep my leg and be able to walk….i don’t want my brothers to go through what we’ve been through….more.

I just found out that my blood sugar is elevated. I have to go back for a 3 hour test next week and I was wondering what will happen during this 3 hours?
Can onset Diabetes be cured with regular exercise and diet control? Come back to normal life later?

I was in the Navy for 15 years. I got out and have spent the last few years working in the civilian world. I’d liked to go back into the Navy and finish my 20 years.
My problem is that I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes about 2 years ago.
Can I still get back in or is it a deal breaker?
is it possible to have type 1 or 2 diabetes for a long time but tests still come back normal?

i have almost all the symptoms but they arent really THAT bad. I went to the doctor and most of my tests came back normal (fasting was a little high-115) but is it possible to still end up getting type one or type 2 diabetes?
