I’m hoping to lose some weight (not much, just 10 lbs), but I have a problem with low blood sugar. By the time I am able to get to food, I’m so hungry that I can’t stop eating it. What are some good foods that I can eat for meals and will keep my energy up, and what are some good snacks to keep my sugar up in the meantime?

I’ve been really moody and easily annoyed with things that didn’t use to bug me so much. I’ve also been REALLY thirsty, and REALLY NOT hungry. I’ve lost a couple pounds (which is acctually ok with me), but it’s wierd because I could never even loose a pound before when I was trying to. I’ve had a lot of headaches and stomach aches too. I thought it was because I am getting over the flu (or something like that) and it was just normal. But I was on this site where you write your symptoms and it tells you what could be happening, and it mentioned diabetes 1 or 2. it said that some people get the symptoms after being sick with flu symptoms and they think its only that. My grandpa has type 1 and my dad had type 2, so i could get either one. My dad has a blood suger tester and i tested myself and my blood suger is 101. Is that ok? i don’t know what the normal level is. And what do you think about the rest of it?

I’m helping out a diabetic whose blood sugars are already high. However, she says she’s hungry. What are the best snacks to give her that hopefully won’t raise her blood sugar too much? I’m trying to find some variety besides the sugar free pudding that she’s sick of.

I had a blood test done on my sugar and cholesterol at about 7 PM. My blood sugar was 113. I know under 100 is normal when fasting, which I obviously was not. The nurse said that 113 is fine because I was not fasting. Is that true? Does that mean that I am in normal range?

When I underwent a comprehensive health check-up, my triglycerides, my lipid profile, liver function, kidney function, ECG and Chest X-Ray were found to be in excellent condition. My Glycosylated Hb test revealed 6.5%, which indicated a “GOOD DIABETIC CONTROL” . In fact, the lab analyst asked me whether I was on medication. I went in for two medical opinions. One doctor said I could control by normal diet and exercise, while the other told me that I had type 2 diabetes and advised me medication. I do not feel any affects of Diabetes like fatigue, tiredness, etc. In fact I exercise regularly and eat non-fatty, non-sugary, low calorie and low cholesterol food.I am a bit confused. Can anyone clarify?
By the way, I am 39 yrs old male, Ht. 5′6″ or 167 cms and I weigh 90 Kgs.

I am pre diabetic because usually my fasting blood sugar ranges from 90-115.
I am thin and tall.21 yrs old, female. My mom has diabetes, so my chances of getting diabetes is high.
If I keep doing exercises and not eat heaps of sweets, will I be able to have a normal blood sugar level without being pre diabetic again?
Is there a risk for a pre diabetic person to develop diabetes when pregnant?

I heard of a commercial on CNN that says there is a new Blood Glucose meter that you run over your skin & it tells you your sugar level. It doesn’t require a blood sample like all the other meters.
