My boyfriend is reluctant to come to america with me because he’s diabetic and the price of insulin in america is very high, whereas here in ireland its free. Did they change this at all? If he had american citizenship is there anything he could apply for and definitely get to reduce the cost of the insulin he needs?

I believe that my dog has diabetes. She is a Rhodesian Ridgeback and weighs about 120 pounds. Can anyone give me an estimate on insulin costs and syringes? I plan to take her to the vet either way, I just wanted to be prepared. Thank you.

I’m currently in the early stages of looking into transferring to the USA from the UK within my company, but am a Type-1 Diabetic and am completely ignorant of how the healthcare system works in America. Obviously, everything is provided free of charge here in the UK but I want to have an idea of what costs I might be facing if I get the opportunity to work in the US.
My employer provides health insurance but I don’t have any details yet. Typically, would an insurer still meet any of the costs for medical supplies for people with pre-existing conditions? Also, roughly what is the cost of insulin and test strips? I use Humalog and Lantus (pens) and One-Touch strips. I’m also idly wondering if there was any reason why I couldn’t get a relative in the UK to FedEx my medicines over to the US each month…
Any information anyone could give would be much appreciated!

My friend is diabetic and doesn’t take care of herself. What makes it worst is that she currently has no money and is living out of motels. She has no insulin and no needles and is very sick. I don’t know what to do, but she needs supplies NOW which are cheap, or preferrably no cost. The programs i’ve researched can’t get it to her in enough time. Any hospitals ort clinics in LA county that can help her. please respond. thank you.

i know if it gets bad i can take her to the ER but im hoping for a more long term/ less expensive solution….thanks

I will be living in USA soon and need to choose a health insurance plan. I am 53 years old have type II diabetes and blood pressure for which I take daily medication. I’ve been wanting to go check if i have type 1 diabetes for some time now but since i dont have health insurance and am low on money i was wondering how much it would be.
I have all the symptoms. every single one. and it also runs in both sides of my family. my grandmother died from it and i have an aunt who has it. I’m also 18 but been having symptoms since i was 16.
I was also wondering how much insulin shots cost?
I really believe this is what i have but i just want to confirm it and treat it. These symptoms have really been interfering with my life. I feel like i cant to anything.

I’m doing a paper on preventative healthcare. My hunch is, if we invest more in preventative care and wellness promotion, we’ll save more money on healthcare in the long run.

I’m diabetic, no health insurance. My doctor won’t prescribe any insulin to me because I owe too much in medical bills. My state denied me for insurance because I make too much money, I’m unemployed right now, and have no money coming in. I need novolog insulin for an insulin pump. No one will help me get it for free, and they’d rather see me die. where can I get this insulin, and how much will it cost me with no insurance and no prescription??
To Megge: Nololog is a fast acting insulin, my doctor prescribes that kind of insulin for my pump, he says it’s the best insulin to use… but since I have no insurance, and owe him too much money on bills….he won’t prescribe it. He’d rather me die.

I am only 13 and i am pretty sure i have diabetes but dont want to find out unless i can have an omnipod wirless insulin pump. I know it seems kinda weird. We are on the military health insurance because my stepdad was in it. Does my health insuramce cover the cost for an insulin pump? NO RUDE ANSWERS!
