Boyfriend’s mother wants a dog, and she has diabetes that is getting out of control. I know they have those dogs that are trained to assist people with diabetes. Curious if theres a site. I just dont know the official name for them.

hey guys,
i am wondering if i can get some help, im looking to find a testing kit, for diabetics to monitor there glucose levels … something with no blood required cause my grandmother needs to be testing her blood and she’s not because she is stubborn and doesn’t wanna have to pinch herself with the old fashion test kit… i heard i think it was in a tv commercial , a kit where you do not need to pinch yourself…. please any help @ all would be greatly appreciated… my grandma has been diabetic for a year+ and she hasn’t been following no diet or monitoring her blood glucose … and lately she hasn’t been doing so good… she’s all I got and I’m really worried , thank you
- p.s. – does anyone know any good informative diabetic site, where i can find like recipes and food products good for diabetics… I wanna take head charge of her health !

I know this has been asked before, and the answers were pretty good, but thought someone might have another idea. I’m diabetic, the world’s pickiest eater, and am driving from Ohio to Florida this week. Fruit and veggies are okay, but don’t really stick with me. I feel like I’ve od’d on trail mix (though Target has some fantastic mixes), I’m just hoping there is something out there that i haven’t thought of… So any thoughts or advice would be great!
Cheap, diabetic friendly meals?

I’m diabetic, and I’m really struggling to make it by, so the only foods I am generally able to get are foods that are mostly carbs and other things that just aren’t good for diabetes. With money being such an issue, is it possible to make meals that can feed three people, but also be diabetic friendly?

I don’t have any sort of medical insurance right now. I did have medi-cal but I’m losing it at the end of this month because I had a miscarriage and don’t have any kids. I’m a type 2 diabetic planning on getting pregnant again, but they won’t allow me to stay on medi-cal. I’m trying to find ways to get my diabetic supplies free or very cheap as money is also an issue. Please no lecturing, just looking for some help. Thanks.
By the way, I live in Modesto, CA. Trying to find something near by that can help or online websites, maybe.

My husband wanted me to come on here and find out if anyone knows of some tasty but safe snacks for a diabetic?? He is a type two diabetic. He controls his sugar by taking actos and by staying away from too many sweets. But he is looking for some new things that aren’t loaded with carbs and sugars. Are there any fellow diabetics that would like to share some ideas that you may have for treats?? We would appreciate any ideas that you may have. We will look into all the ideas that come our way. Diabetic and confused as to when to eat meals?

My mother is on insulin, morning and night. She says she has to wait 30 minutes after her insulin to eat. In the morning she is very weak and in the evening after dinner she is also tired and sleepy.
She has recently changed her dinner hour from 6:00 pm to 8:00 something i am very upset about. Her reasoning is to loose weight but she is doing more damage to her system. Any advice on what she should do about her eating times and hours? She is also sleeping very bad and hardly gets any sleep time in the night.

Ive been told to drink milk but I cant remember if it is to raise it or lower it.I have also been told orange juice too but,I cant remember which is for which or why the difference.
