My mother is a diabetic, and I actually want to go on a lower carb diet for my training, so I want to know what are some good pastas, breads and things like that, which are low in carbs?
I read it should be lower than 50 on the glycemic index, but I don’t really know. What is good for lower carbs for diabetics?

Hi,
I have a insulin pump now but I’m looking to get a new one. I have the deltec pump now and I hate having to buy my supplies through them. I have good insuerince but it cost over $400 a month for supplies. I would much rather buy my supplies through the pharmacy. So does any one know of a pump that lets you do that? If not do you know of a good pump that you have used? Why?

I always make my teachers candy (fudge, truffles, etc.) for the holidays, but this year one of my teachers is diabetic. Does anyone know any candy recipes that are safe for diabetics? What are the dietary restrictions anyway? I really don’t want to kill my teacher, she gave me an A.

I don’t think anybody knows, for which, the advise of physicians to overweight patients should be “If you loose weight your chances of not developing diabetes will improve by several percentage points.

any statistics about how much weight loss is likely to reverse diabetes. (I realize that not everyone that has diabetes can reverse weight loss with dieting, and that some diabetics are already at ideal body weight.)
Oops. In the second part I meant to say reverse diabetes with weight loss, not dieting with weight loss.

I am diabetics type 2 and my son 8 years olds is autistic(not a severe case),but currently attending a special education class.I am wondering If I have to choose between Nova Scotia and Ontario provinces,which province do you think is best in terms of Health Care System for me and my autistic son???Thanks for your help.

Anyone who is a diabetic should understand where i’m comeing from because being a diabetic is very expensive. I’m type 1 and been a diabetic since I was 3yrs old and it’s a struggle everyday. Medications are to high. Diabetes is a very serious condition why don’t they help diabetics out and you shouldn’t have to be 65 and over to get any medicare or medicade or have very low income or a child, they should include people who have diseases at these department of health care services. It shouldn’t have to be to a point to where your so ill that you cant do anything for your self to get SSI or any kind of medical help. Also, if they had a insurance plans “just” for diabetics it should cover any and everything.
