How do you get past the metal detectors with diabetic supplies such as syringes and lancets? Just curious as I’ve only been diabetic…er, known about it anyhow, since the end of last summer and haven’t been to an amusement park since.

I have been wondering this for a very long while, since I have type 2 diabetes. Almost all my friends are joining the military, and I think I may want to too, just because of the benefits, and to pay for college.
All the questions on here are about type 1 (insulin dependent) and I haven’t found any answers for type 2 (diet controlled).

No, I am not on Insulin, my diabetes is controlled with diet, and I live as if I do not have diabetes.

my work offers “free” insurance. but we get no prescription coverage. i just found out i am diabetic and had to go buy a meter and such. is there a way i can cut down costs on the prescription and the testing strips? do companies offer rebates or coupons? are there stores cheaper then others?
I like to know how things work but don’t seem to be able to find the answer to this one. I started on Levemir injections recently and everything I read is about the insulin, why I need it and where and how to inject.
If I take tablets I understand how they get into the system but where does the long lasting insulin go from the injection site. Is it circulating in the blood, stored in the liver or elsewhere.
Can anyone tell me or know of a good website with more information.
