Hi! I really need some answers from fellow diabetics about their experiences with Liberty Medical. Here is my rant!
I have been ordering my insulin pump supplies from Liberty Medical for about five years now, it is the only supplier my insurance will pay for at this time. Unfortunately, there have been about five instances where my order was not shipped. I never owed anything, there were never problems with my prescriptions, only lack of effort on their part.
My latest order was to go out almost two weeks ago, and was re-ordered two days ago because it wasn’t shipped, AGAIN. Even though I was promised my supplies would be sent over night and would be at my house two days later because of the holiday, I have not received them! I called a supervisor, AGAIN, and was told it was “out of their hands” because the order was shipped. However, my order was NOT shipped overnight as promised because I have not received it. I was not offered an apology, nor the tracking number to call UPS. The supervisor was rude and did not offer any solutions. I stressed to him (quite aggressively, I was and am upset) that I would DIE without these supplies, and he didn’t care because it was “out of their hands.”
I am extremely upset, because type one diabetes is stressful enough even with supplies! I work in customer service, and when an order is not received as promised, I truly believe it is the company’s responsibility to fix the problem. What gets me the most upset is they seem to think they are selling t-shirts, when they are selling tools to keep us alive! Wilford Brimley even says he gets his “lifeline” from Liberty. What a joke!
I would really like to know your experiences with Liberty, good and bad please. I hate making angry phone calls, but when it comes to diabetics staying alive, somebody should be held responsible. Please let me know if you have ever experienced anything like I have, or anything different. I REALLY appreciate your input, and thanks for reading this.
Have a wonderful day!!!
