My husband has been a type II diabetic for over 25 years. Until 4 years ago, he was in bad shape. He couldn’t walk more than 30 feet because of the neuropathy in both of his feet. He was on 43 units of insulin a night, his weight ballooned to 273 pounds (he is 5′ 11″), he was irritable, he was always tired – even fell asleep at the wheel while driving. I did a lot of research and developed a successful program to help him. 4 years ago, he lost 75 pounds, has not been on insulin for over 3 years, has walked in 2-5K races, walks 2 miles at the gym 4 times a week and works out with weights. His doctor is simply amazed. He is now on only half of his oral meds. I have coached other people and their results are outstanding. They’re doctors are thrilled. I am not a physician nor a nutritionist but I know what works. We work with the doctors to help people who could never lose weight before and who’s blood sugars are out of control. I want to market this program – where do I start?
Thank you for your answers. One person asked me a couple of questions and I can’t find out how to answer those questions. I hope they get the answer thru this.
I am hoping to market and sell my program to individuals, at seminars, by showing corporations how they can lower their health insurance costs by using my program to enable their employees to be more healthy.

How to get off a weight loss plateau with insulin resistance?
I am on metformin for insulin resistance and have PCOS. I was losing weight steadily for 6 months, and have since hit a one month plateau of no loss (and no gain). I tried increasing vegetables and reducing sugar even more, as well as keeping up with exercise, but it seems to keep me the same and not lose.
Any ideas for coming off the plateau? The doctor recommended coming off metformin for 2 weeks and then restarting. Does that work? Any other ideas?

The Weight Loss Cure book advises that one take injections of hCG hormone. Is it safe?
I recently bought Kevin Trudeau’s The Weight Loss Cure They Don’t Want You to Know About. In it, he cites studies from the 1950’s that say that taking daily injections of the hormone hCG (125-250mg) and eating a 500 calorie a day diet is a safe way to lose weight and stop food cravings.
I am a diabetic, so I know that any hormone can be life changing and can effect the whole body. Is there anyone who has used this regimen or otherwise knows about this hormone and would reccommend it?

Beat diabetes and lose weight!Ask any doctor or nutritionist who treats patients with diabetes: the first focus for controlling the disease is a healthy eating plan. It’s a kind of eating that virtually guarantees not just control of the disease and a satisfying of the appetite, but an emphasis on… More >>

I think I may be showing some symptoms of diabetes, and as I’ve been looking into it I saw that weight loss is a symptom, but I’m confused how this is the case when – well from what I’ve gathered – being overweight or obese can put you at risk for diabetes, and losing weight tends to be an issue for those suffering from diabetes.

Can exercise and weight loss prevent diabetes?
I’m kinda chubby and I’m trying to lose weight, but I was wondering, does exercise and weight loss help to prevent diabetes? I’m looking for serious answers and I’d love credible links and research if that wouldn’t be too much trouble. It just seems so prevalent nowadays, that I want to take the initiative to try and insure that I never get it, but I don’t know if there is anything you could do. Will exercise and weightloss work? Thanks. ![]()
Thanks for all the answers so far. I just want to clarify, I don’t have diabetes or anything, but I know with the bit of extra weight, I could potentially be at risk if I were to gain weight, so I just want to lose the little extra I have. Thanks again.
Why would some one with diabetes symptoms have unusual weight loss?
It just doesn’t make sense. I would think from all the carbs and sugar they would gain weight.
I have type 2 diabetes (diet controlled) is that a reason for my unexplained weight loss?
3 months ago I weighed 137 now I am down to 124 lbs. I have done nothing different really other then not eating or drinking sugar. Do you think this can be a cause for my unexplained weight loss I haven’t weighed this amount since I was 15 and now I am 26. I have been laying around the house for 6 months due to not having a job and watching my children, I’d think I would be gaining weight b/c I get no exercise. What do you think?
also i am on zoloft for about 2 months now only 25mg
