My husband is 28 and is type 1 diabetic. He was diagnosed when he was around 18. His pancreas does not produce insulin. I wondered if a transplant were possible. I want him to live a long time. I love him soooo much.

Pancreas / Diabetes question?
Is it possible to cure diabetes, if someone donates you their pancreas? Like if you were to have a new one/working one would your diabetes be cured? (I myself don’t have it but it’s a simple question)
though it’s not heard of could it be done?
okay, another way to put this. If you were totally willing to donate anything in your whole body (not expecting to live through it) to cure, someone with type 1 diabetes. What could cure it?

What are signs of diabetes? Also if I have pancreas problems am I @ Risk?
I know nothing about Diabetes. I’ve developed problems with my Pancreas in that I had 3 attacks of Pancreatitis last year and doc asked me to eat low fat and no alcohol for the rest of my life.
Am I at risk for diabetes, what are the signs?
Would a picture of a pancreas be the perfect skin for an insulin pump?
Today at the doc’s office I got a coupon for a free skin for my insulin pump. I logged in and saw a bazillion designs or that I have the option of sending in a photo and creating my own. I am thinking of sending in a picture of a pancreas. Wouldn’t that be the perfect skin?
Im not taking insulin pills because I am controlling it with Diet- Am I harming my Pancreas?
Ok so I would normally ask my doctor, however I dont have health insurance and cant afford a visit right now.
I am a newly diagnosed Type 2 back in October and my doctor prescribed me Glimeride and Metformin, however due to the severe diahrea I was having, I discontinued usage months ago.
Anyways- I have been controlling my diabetes – perfectly with diet. Eating under 60 carbs per meal. My sugars have been totally normal.
Im wondering however, if I am making my pancreas work overtime by not taking the pills, and in the long run it this will harm my pancreas and make my diabetes more severe years down the road – ie Insulin Dependant? I really dont want to take the pills, and Im doing great managing it with just diet.
Any suggestions?
First 2 answers do not apply, can anyone please tell me if they know for sure? Thanks!
Insulin Dependent Diabetes: Is there any other treatment to reactivate pancreas to generate insulin?
I am suffering from Diabetes for the past 10 years and fully dependent on Insulin. Also, resulting too much abdominal pain with fetid gas. Is there any way in Ayurveda or other form of treatment which can replace pushing insulin from outside by reactivating the pancreas to generate insulin. If so possible, then kindly inform with all the details. I shall be highly obliged for wise answers.
Is diabetes mellitus 1 characterized only as the inability of the pancreas to produce insulin?
A person with this condition may have to give oneself intramuscular injections in order to regulate glucose level in the blood. And I understand that glucagon injections aren’t as practical because the mere consumption of carbohydrates should do the trick.
So my question is: Does the pancreas of a person suffering from diabetes mellitus 1 produce glucagon?
