i had a friend give me 5 boxes of expired test strips. they were a unused prescription and never opended from last year. would it be a bad idea to use these? i dont have prescription coverage so i have to pay out of pocket for all my diabetic supplies. wondering of i should throw them out.

I am 24 years old and insulin dependent with out insurance. I spend 600 dollars a month for healthcare including doctor visits and medicine. I have no insurance and do not qualify for any type benefits. Can anyone give me some type of advice?

I have a friend who, at home, is in a very bad situation where their parents are abusive. He needs to get out of the house, and a friend of his has agreed to let them stay with them for free, but he needs to know how much it would cost for all the required diabetes supplies at the cheapest they can get. Anyone know if and how he could go about achieving this?
My grandmother tested her urine with strips of paper back in the 60’s & 70’s. Was she testing for diabetes?
