Tea could help combat diabetes
Some constituents of tea are thought to combat diabetes
Drinking black tea could help prevent diabetes, according to new findings by scientists at Dundee University.
The researchers said black tea may have the potential to combat type 2 diabetes, the most common form of the disease.
Dr Rena stressed that further research was needed.
“People shouldn’t be rushing to drink masses of black tea thinking it will cure them of diabetes,” he said. “We are still some way from this leading to new treatments or dietary advice.
“Our research into tea compounds is at a preclinical, experimental stage and people with diabetes should continue to take their medicines as directed by their doctor.”
“However, there is definitely something interesting in the way these naturally occurring components of black tea may have a beneficial effect, both in terms of diabetes and our wider health.”
I think I may have diabetes?
I think I may have diabetes, because when I eat a carb heavy meal I feel my blood sugar is all messed up. I am thirsty a lot as well. I am going to my physician, but don’t know what to ask. I recently got blood sugar fasting test and although it was within normal range I still don’t feel right. I recently gained weight when I was depressed, but I am trying to walk everyday for at least 30 minutes to lose it.
When I was depressed I really depended on sugary sweets and carb laden foods as a crutch and ate copious amounts of them. I’m really scared I might have messed my body up during that time period. I also took a 30 day regime of PEP which is known to aggravate pre-diabetes symptoms. What are the test, and what do they entail for detecting diabetes? I want to take something other than the fasting blood glucose, because I feel like my symptoms only appear after eating certain meals.

Anybody that has diabetes do you think their should be a insurance plans just for diabetics?
Anyone who is a diabetic should understand where i’m comeing from because being a diabetic is very expensive. I’m type 1 and been a diabetic since I was 3yrs old and it’s a struggle everyday. Medications are to high. Diabetes is a very serious condition why don’t they help diabetics out and you shouldn’t have to be 65 and over to get any medicare or medicade or have very low income or a child, they should include people who have diseases at these department of health care services. It shouldn’t have to be to a point to where your so ill that you cant do anything for your self to get SSI or any kind of medical help. Also, if they had a insurance plans “just” for diabetics it should cover any and everything.
Can you please read my addendum letter that explains the number of Ws on my transcript and tell what you think?
Thank you for taking the time to consider my application to your prestigious and traditioned program. This letter is in regards to the course grades of W that can be seen on the transcript included with my application. I wanted to take this time to dispel any notion that I lack diligence or academic stamina due to the number of withdrawals that occur on my transcript. I have never withdrawn from a course on the basis of poor academic performance and I hold academic excellence in the highest esteem. This fact is evident in my participation in the Business Honors Program, by obtaining high marks throughout my undergraduate career, and as consequentially being placed on the Chancellor’s list for multiple semesters. I withdrew from several classes starting from the beginning of 2007 and lasting to the end of 2008 to care for my ailing grandfather. My grandfather has been the biggest supporter in my life. His presence has filled my life in way that most fathers are supposed to fill. During early spring 2007, my grandfather was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Coupled with pre-existing diabetes and a weakened heart from prior heart attacks, my grandfather required hospitalization off and on and required close and intensive care when at home. Home health nurses could not be obtained for long periods due to restrictions in my grandparent’s insurance policy, so the burden was placed on my family. I come from a very small family and the options were limited. I took the thirty minute drive everyday to care for my grandfather all while maintaining my internship at Carroll Financial Associates. My days consisted of taking blood sugars, giving insulin shots, taking blood pressures, and giving him the almost twenty medications that had to be given over the course of a day. I look back at the past year with pride that I was there to take care of a member of my family. It was a time of personal growth. Recently, I have not had to help out as much because of developments at my mother’s place of work. This has allowed for me to continue my studies full-time and work toward my goal of becoming a CPA.
Do you think Nick Jonas deserves to be treated the way he is about diabetes?
I want to know how many people have a heart. Do you think it’s fair that Nick is treated like garbage because he has diabetes? It’s type 1, which means it’s unpreventable and it isn’t his fault.
I think my cat has feline diabetes. I can’t see a vet until Wednesday. How should I handle his diet until then?
He’s been eating wet food non stop and drinking and peeing a lot. He is all skin and bones. It happened overnight it seems. I have two other cats eating dry food with some wet. He’s the only one that lost a lot of wight. I can’t see the vet until Wednesday. Should I let him keep eating? He can’t afford to lose anymore wight, he will die.

Do you think that Black Seed Oil can be used as a treatment for HIV/AIDS?
I AM SORRY THAT THIS IS LONG, BUT PLEASE READ
I am currently doing research about Black Seeds. It is also known as Black Coriander or Black Caraway seeds. It is know that Black Seeds can cure/treat many medical ailments.
Well in my Biology class, we were learning about adaptation, and an example is the AIDS virus. When ever this one perosn took the medication, it seemed that somehow the virus would adapt to it. Well since I have heard of Black Seed, and I have done some research, I was wondering if it can treat HIV/AIDS. I know that it may not completley cure it, or that you need to take this for a while to see results, i was just wondering about the possibilities.
Based on this info, what do you think? Any comments will be accepted. It would help me if you cite your information (if you can).
-Black seed unquestionably has a positive and stabilizing effect on the human immune system which . Moreover, since diseases are the result of defective immune systems, it is fair to assume that the beneficial effects go beyond skin disorders and allergies. Since the immune system has a direct or indirect effect on all the systems of the body, when you are infected by any disease, the power of the immunity system affects the cure of this disease.
-Black seed is a safe and effective herb that can be used by almost anyone. No irritations or side effects are caused when the right dose is correctly applied. Its benefits are obtained through consistent use,the effects are medium to long term. Diabetes is useful in the treatment of diabetes mellitus or diabetes caused by an allergy. However it is recommended that the treatment be supervises because Black seed does lower blood sugar levels. Black seed should not be taken by pregnant women if their wombs are sensitive
-Mahfouz and El-Dakhakhny, prominent Egyptian researchers isolated the active principle nigellone from Black Seed’s essential oil in 1959. There are over 100 different chemical components in the seed.
Nigella and melatin are two ingredients in Black Seed that contribute greatly to its highly diversified powers. These substances work together to provide the digestive benefits that have been revered in Black Seed. They also promote cleansing and assist with overall eliminating action.
Two of the most volatile oils found in Black seed are nigellone and thymoquinone which were fist discovered in the herb in 1985. Nigellone offers both anti-spasmodic and bronchodilating properties which contribute to Black Seed’s potency against respiratory ailments. It also acts as an antihistamine which helps to reduce the negative symptoms of allergy sufferers. Thymoquinone contains excellent anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is also a strong anti-oxidant and helps cleanse the body of toxins. Both nigellone and thymoquinone work in conjunction with one another to enhance Black Seed’s action against respiratory ailments. It also provides a healthy alternative to the more commonly prescribed cortisone based therapies used by allergy sufferers.
Black seed provides a rich supply of polyunsaturated fatty acids. These ingredients play a key role in daily health and wellness. They help to regulate the metabolism, carry toxins to the skin’s surface for elimination, balance insulin levels, regulate cholesterol, improve body circulation, and promote healthy liver function. A deficiency in polyunsaturated fatty acids can lead to a wide number of health problems including nervous system disorders, uninhibited growths, and skin diseases.
Black seed contains over 100 valuable nutrients. It is comprised of approximately 21% protein, 38% carbohydrates, and 35% plant fats and oils. The active ingredients of black seed are nigellone, thymoquinone, and fixed oils. Black seed also contains significant proportions of protein, carbohydrates and essential fatty acids. Other ingredients include linoleic acid, oleic acid, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc, magnesium, selenium, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin B2, niacin, and vitamin C.
A 1994 study conducted in London by King’s College revealed that Black Seed has properties that inhibit certain enzymes, which also inhibit the production of certain prostaglandins. This is more proof that the rich and complex combination of elements found in Black Seed work together for a total effect.
Black Seed has over 1400 years history of use. Many ancient books and text suggest the following traditional uses for Black Seed. But please note, that these should not be understood as cures or treatments for any disease or illness.
Now this is only some of the research that I have done. I have not actually done some testing or anything, I am just in High School. Right now, I am in the stage of gathering information.
